Pulling Top 5 Highest & Lowest Values of Certain Type

Hello, looking for a way to utilize maxifs/minfis or index a specific way, there are probably a hundred ways to do this, i just do not know the best one. If you open the file i'm just looking to pull the top 5 highest and lowest values by type. If you look at column "C" it is comprised of R,F,P. Is what i want to do is make a dashboard to the left that every time i load the data in there it just updates my top 5 and bottom 5. I would need it to fill the right hand side of the sheet I.E. Material description, Material #, Value etc.

Could you confirm which version of excel you are using please. Your profile says 2013 yet you mention minifs and maxifs which are only available in 2019 or 365.

Top and bottom 5 on value or quantity?

If I am not wrong, you want this...
    Attached Files Attached Files
To attach worksheet Go advanced -> Manage attachments -> Choose file -> Upload
Don't forget to Mention your desired result in the sheet..
There should be sample data only, a lot of data creates confusion.

    Thanks & Regards

Re: Pulling Top 5 Highest & Lowest Values of Certain Type

Taking another look at your sample, I notice that the source data is sorted by descending values in column E, which simplifies the formulas needed.

For top 5 of type R (assuming top = highest value).

    I2, drag down
    Formula: copy to clipboard

    H2, drag down
    Formula: copy to clipboard

J2, drag right to K2, then down
    Formula: copy to clipboard

For bottom 5, I've highlighed the differences so that you can see what to change for the other types.
    I13
    Formula: copy to clipboard

For the other columns, just copy and paste the cells from the top 5, as long as you are continuing down in the same pattern, the relative ranges will folllow the data as needed.
