Concatenating ID Numbers with a Formula

    Hi,

I need help with a formula.

I have a bunch of barcodes in a spreadsheet with one column that is 1660 rows long. These rows contain digits that vary from 8-13 / cell

I want all rows contain 13 digits and want the rows where there are eg 8 digits that 5 zeros should be added in front of the existing numbers. and in the rows containing 10 digits, 3 zeros should be added to the front etc.

    Is this possible to do?

I hope you understand what I mean.
Thankful for all the help I can get

    Sincerely

    Patrik

    Attach your file HERE, please.

Unfortunately the attachment icon doesn't work at the moment, so to attach an Excel file you have to do the following: just before posting, scroll down to Go Advanced and then scroll down to Manage Attachments. Now follow the instructions at the top of that screen.

    In B3 copied down:

    =TEXT(A3,"#000000000000#")

OR select column A and change the column formatting to custom:

    #000000000000#
