way to multiply cells with variables

Hi Everyone,
I'm struggling to find the formula(s) I need to have excel multiply two cells together that have variables in them. What i am looking for is if a input two values, each with a variable, ie. 3x and 2x. I want excel to return a value of 6x² . I want to be able to only change the values in the grey boxes and have the table auto update.

I have a sheet that I use two multiply integer values, for a game. I was hoping to extend it to work with basic algebra skills so kids could practice their multiplication. Any ideas?
