Count How Many Times Name Appears Per Day

Hello,

I tried searching but since it is specific to the day I was unable to find the solution on the forum beyond matching to the Month as a whole using COUNTIF.

I am trying to count how many times a name appears in column B on a specific date from column A. I have included a couple example pictures of what I have and what I am hoping to have as the outcome.

This is how my data spits out where it organizes by date but each item worked is a new line so I can sometimes have 30 for one person on each day.

I am looking to have an outcome like this where it shows how many times that name has appeared for that specific date

I tried some COUNTIFs but for some reason I am not able to get it to reference A:A to match the date then if it matches count how many times the name appears, would this be more of an INDEX function?

I see no reason why a COUNTIFS() won't work.

e.g.

If the data and results are not on the same sheet you'll need to include a sheet reference in the function.

Upload the workbook if you can't get it to work.
