Formula displays Greek?

Can anyone help me understand why there are greek letters appearing as the formula?

The formula bar has it in English (as below) but when I actually click on the cell or do "Show Formulas" it appears in Greek on the sheet (in picture).

    =SUMIFS('EH ETA'!$M$3:$M$6501,Calendar!$G$2:$G$6500,J$2,'EH ETA'!$E$3:$E$6501,$B4)

It did not used to look like that. I noticed this after it was used on someone else computer (also English). There are many formulas on the sheet and it is the only set that is this doing this weird Greek thing.

    Thanks in advance.

No idea - never seen this before. Are you able to attach a cut-down copy of the workbook showing this for someone to check?

Nor have I. What happens if you re-create the formula?
    1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
    2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools

The same thing happened until I "Cleared All" the format for those cells. Somehow, the format was set to Symbol....I didn't even consider the font because the formula and value of the cell looked normal... Thank you very much for the idea to recreate/reset things.

Thanks Ali for responding also. This issue is resolved now but just wondering, for privacy, is it possible to remove an uploaded file after it is posted? I was hesitant to upload more details because I don't know if it can be removed later.

    Re: Formula displays Greek?

It's possible, but we would ask you not to do so, as an attachment is an integral part of the thread and the thread needs to remain fully useful to anyone else using it later.

You should NEVER post any file that contains sensitive information, anyway: only ever post anything you are happy to leave here as part of this database.

If that takes care of your original question, please select Thread Tools from the menu link above and mark this thread as SOLVED. Thanks.

Im happy you got this resolved - formatting can really mess you around sometimes.

Rhanks for the feedback, and while yes, it IS possible to remove a file from a thread, as Ali pointed out, we would need a very strong reason to do so.
