Format control to show data in charts

    Hi guys,

I have 2 questions about a dashboard I am trying to create.

Firstly, I have setup format controls but not sure how/what I need to do for it to populate the corresponding data on any charts I have created.

For example, using the Dashboard tab, if I select 'Q2' (this means Quarter 2), how do I get my charts to pull data for Q2? The last chart for example would consist of: interviewer performance (so this is the 'rating' visible in cell G52 - Dashboard tab or column R on the Interviewer Data tab) and the Quarter. So I want to see Interviewert performance in Q2 (if I select Q2). Hope this makes sense?

Sorry I may have a missing piece here - but I would still appreciate any help with the steps I neeed to take as per my original query.

I have realised I have not input data to show different quarters on the interviewer data tab.

Would this be a problem? If I have the same interviewer listed 4 times (1 row per quarter) with different data? Or does this seem like the easiest way to work with this data?

    Thank you.

Let me introduce you to Excel Tables. There are many benefits to using Excel Tables, but two of the biggest for this application are:
    - Excel Tables "know" how big they are so any formulas, charts or pivot tables that reference them don't have to change as you add or delete data from the table.
    - Excel Tables copy down formulas, formats, validations, etc. from the rows above them automatically.

Here is more information on Excel Tables: http://www.utteraccess.com/wiki/Tables_in_Excel.

The Quarter can be calculated with this formula: =INT((MONTH([@[Start date]])-1)/3)+1

Sheet 1 shows a pivot table and chart showing the number of completed interviews by region and interviewer.

One spreadsheet to rule them all. One spreadsheet to find them. One spreadsheet to bring them all and at corporate, bind them.

A picture is worth a thousand words, but a sample spreadsheet is more likely to be worked on.

    Hi dflak,

Thank you for coming back to me and sharing the info you did.

    A few questions..
    1) I did not see a sheet 1 in your attachment?
    2) Sorry if my request waS not clear.. but just to reiterate what I am trying to do..I have 4 charts on my dashboard tab, I am unable to create the link between selecting data from the lists on the left hand side of the dashboard tab, i.e. the letter A etc... to have data for 'A' come up in the charts

    Any guidance is much appreciated
