Red face Re-ordering data using MATCH and INDEX with multiple criteria

    Hi,

I was hoping to get some advice/suggestions.

Referring to the attached spreadsheet, I have data ('data' sheet) in multiple columns.

I would like to retrieve 'PV' (column H) from the 'data' sheet and re-order it where:
    -'param_ID'= O3
    -'SP_name'= separate columns
    -date/time in separate rows

I constructed an index match array formula to apply these multiple criteria and retrieve the 'PV' data accordingly, however it returns an error at the moment.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    THanks

You gotta fix your date formatting on your data sheet. First of all, between the month and day, you have an extra space. Second, makes sure it is a proper date format that Excel recognizes.

Cool Re: Re-ordering data using MATCH and INDEX with multiple criteria

maybe use a PivotTable (but your dates are as TEXT not as Excel dates - [date is a number] - so you can't group dates)

Or with proper dates but I don't know what you want to achieve with dates. Group by days/month/hours?
    Done with PowerQuery and PivotTable

Thanks for the help! The Pivot table seems to be the best option for me.
Now just need to change the dates in an economical manner...

    Glad to help

Use PowerQuery to correct dates as I did (post#4)
