    change date to number format

    Dear sir

    pls help . how to change date format(column a) to number format(column c)
    when we copy column a and paste into column c into number format
    it don't work and pls help how to change

    Use a formula:

    =DATEVALUE(A1)

    You can put this formula in C1:

    =IF(FIND("/",A1)>3,DATE(LEFT(A1,4),SUBSTITUTE(MID(A1,6,2),"/",""),SUBSTITUTE(RIGHT(A1,2),"/","")),0+A1)

    then copy down as required.
