Hello,
how do I make it using conditional formatting, so that excel would highlight cell in range B:F which value is equal to cells in column K.
For example in row 2 cell E2 would be highlighted because E2=K2
row 3 - B3
etc

hi there. select the range you want to apply to (say from B2:F268)
go to Home tab -> Conditional Formatting -> New Rule -> Use a formula to determine which cells to format -> Format values where this formula is true:
=B2=$K2
format the desired fill

So $ sign before the column or row, kind of locks that column or row or cell, and always picks the values from that locked one right?
Yes that's essentially correct.
Note that if both the column and row are locked there is no difference between copying the cells to another cell or cutting the cell and pasting somewhere else. In both those situations the formula always points back to the original cell.
Contrast that with the result when either the row or column are locked.
It's known as Absolute referencing rather than Relative referencing and is fundamental to the way Excel works.

AliG, sorry, I see it now. I am only learning now, and it is quite difficult for me to understand everything at once
The way to learn is to try the suggestions that are offered - then you will understand them and how they work. Nobody is expecting you to understand everything at once, but it is reasonable to expect that you will try things, especially when members have taken the time to walk you through it step by step as I did in that post.
Have you now resolved this issue?
Yes, I have resolved it, thank you!!
Do not think that I did not pay attention to that post - I did, back then I just used other method, which if I remember correctly you gave too.
All this thing I am doing is quite confusing so some things might just slip through my eyes, but I will do my best to keep focused!
One more thing regarding CF:
how to format the cells in a way, that it would give multiple format options to a range of cells.
For example, if the values in the range are between 1-2 it would give yellow color, if the values are 2-3 it would be orange, 3-4 - green etc. ?
Thanks!
