    Conditional Formatting Dates

    I have a cell, A3, that I enter a date into. I want to have the cell change color based on number of days from date in cell A1. So if I enter a date in A3 that is <= to 90 days from the date in A1 I want the cell to turn green. I know it's probably a simple formula but it did not work when I entered A3<=A1+120. I would appreciate any help. Thanks

    Re: Conditional Formatting Dates

    When you say 90 days from the date in A1, do you mean 90 days before or 90 days after the date in A1?

    Try this:

    =A3<=(A1+90)

    Re: Conditional Formatting Dates

    In cell A3 I will be entering the date a task was completed based on the start date in A1. If the date I enter is <= 90 days from the start date I want the cell to turn green. So if my start date is 11/13/17 and I'm entering 3/12/18 the cell should turn green because I'll be within that 90 day window.

    Re: Conditional Formatting Dates

    March 12th 2018 is 119 days after November 13th 2017.

    How is 119 days within a 90 day window?

    Re: Conditional Formatting Dates

    It's the concept of what I'm trying to do. So let's use the 120 days from the start date (A1).
    Start date 11/13/17 (A1)
    Date I enter (A3)
    Format to turn green if the date I enter in A3 is <= to 120 days from the start date

    Re: Conditional Formatting Dates

    To avoid confusion, your examples need to make sense.

    As per post #6, select A3 > Conditional Formatting > New Rule > Use a formula

    =A3-A1<=120

    Format: Fill green > OK > OK
