Button to copy text WITHOUT using VBA/Macros

    Hi everyone,

In cells D3:D6 I have several formulas, generating numbers.

I want to add a form control button (or something similar) which copies the above results into cells C17:F17, but the worksheet is designed purely to use on an Android mobile device - so I can't use VBA/Macros for this.

Does anyone know if there is a way to do this?

    Many thanks in advance,

    Andy

There is no way to do what you are asking.

I think you've answered your own question. You're looking to automate a task whilst at the same time acknowledging you can't use the only automation available to Excel.

Can't you just link C17:F17 to the relevant formulae cells? If not I guess you're only way is to manually copy and paste

Re: Button to copy text WITHOUT using VBA/Macros

Thanks AliGW and Richard. So there is no way to execute a formula by using a button?

I was hoping to be able to enter a code into cell D3, which generates data in D4:D6, and then copy that data further down the worksheet so I can enter (say) 6 separate codes and generate 6 rows of data.

No - you would need code (a macro) to make the button work.

Why not enter your 6 values in D3:I3 and then link D4:D6 to D3, D7:D9 to E3, ....etc.

Thanks Richard, that's basically what I am now doing.
