Red face Formula for Rolling Cost on Life Expectancy

    Hello,

I found this formula in another post lat week but I can't find it now. Anyway, the formula looks like this:

    =IF(MOD(MAX(1,T$4-U$4+T$6),$M28017)=0,$L28017,0)

It does work to get to the life expectancy year cost (in 15 years) but it does not calculate for the starting year. Start year 2019 (T4), installed year 2018 (U4). Life expectancy: (M28017) 15.

    Can you help with this?

    Pat

What do the other two parameters represent???? What answers do you expect to see?

The T6 is representing a 1, which represents the first year (on my sheet it is 2018). L280017 is the cost 460,000.
What I should see is $460,000 in the second cell in the row, which is the column for 2019 (being install year), and again in 2034, again in 15 more years.

Doesn't this achieve the same end, assuming T7 is 2, T8, 3, etc...

    =IF(MOD(MAX(1,T6),$M$28017)=0,$L$28017,0)

    Hello Glenn,

I realized just now that I also have an inflation cell (S7 in below formula) that also needs to be included in the calculation.

Here is the formula before I found the one I changed it to. It also does not calculate the first cost, for 2019.

    =IF(S$6=ROUND($J28017*$L28017,0),$M28017*S$7,IF(MOD((S$6-ROUND($J28017*28017,0)),$L28017)=0,S$7*$M28017,0))*S$5

The "T" in initial post is just the following column.

    Thanks,
    Pat

The J column is the Facility Condition Index.
