Highlight entire row based on cell value

I have done this SO many times before with conditionally formatting with no issues but this morning it suddenly WILL NOT WORK.

I have a table, I add rows to it daily. My first column is a status column where I type "C" or "W"
I want to highlight the whole row a color for each value. For some reason it works for one row but not the entire table. If I set it to the entire table it only looks at row one status column.

    I use =$A2="w"

For some reason it is not applying to all the rows except the row of $A2
I tried applying it to $A:$AM also in the back end of the conditional formatting but it still doesn't work I have no clue what is happening.

When you insert a row it will not include the conditional formatting , redefine the conditional formatting to include all the rows (area) again.
In the conditional formatting you also have to indicate where it applies to for example $A2="w" and in the applies to section you say $A$2:$Z$50

That's what I did and what is happening is its highlighting ALL the rows based on A2 value instead of highlighting row 2 for A2, for 3 for A3 etc.

Yeah never had this issue before..very odd..I guess I Could attach the file.

Re: Highlight entire row based on cell value

Well, I just redid the same thing and now it works. No clue what I did. I started over, highlight my whole table and then set the formatting the same way and now it works.

Gonna be one of those days!!!
