If statement for anything in a cell

    HI!
I am trying to make this formula to work but I don't see what is wrong.

    =IF(INFSR!C29="","",IF(INFSR!C29<>,INFSR!C29,'INFSR (2)'!C8)

basically I am trying to make excel to check if INFSR!C29 is empty to not do anything, if it has anything in the cell the return what is there, if there is nothing then put what it is in INFSR (2)'!C8

    but is not working

Re: If statement for anything in a cell

    a bit of confusion here:

basically I am trying to make excel to check if INFSR!C29 is empty to not do anything, if it has anything in the cell the return what is there, if there is nothing then put what it is in INFSR (2)'!C8
What is the difference in the above statement between is empty and if there is nothing Isn't this the same? Yet you ask for two different results when this occurs. Please clarify.

I feel as if we would be better able to help if you could upload a sample of what you are trying to accomplish. Show us an example of:
    1) the conditions under which you want nothing displayed,
    2) the conditions under which you want the contents of INFSR!C29 displayed and
    3) the conditions under which you want the contents of INFSR (2)'!C8 displayed.
To upload a sample spreadsheet click on the GO ADVANCED button below the Quick Reply window and then scroll down to Manage Attachments to open the upload window.
Let us know if you have any questions.
Consider taking the time to add to the reputation of everybody that has taken the time to respond to your query.
