Stop Links from changing type

I have a worksheet with about 40K Vlookups to remote workbooks. The path always follows this general path:

\\12aust1001fs01\share10011\Budget\SOBUDGET\Projections\CY 2017\2017 07 Jul Projection\Projection Docs

After opening and closing my workbook a few times, and moving it from one location to another, I notice the path has changed to

S:\Budget\SOBUDGET\Projections\CY 2017\2017 07 Jul Projection\Projection Docs

After this change, if I open one of my source workbooks, the formula doesn't update because it doesn't seem to recognize the S. How do I stop the original link from changing?
