Formula for days,hours,mins difference b/t two dates/times in this format mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm

I want to understand in days, hours, minutes format what the difference is between Request date and Assigned date (so, third column would be the request date minus the assigned date to see how long it took to assign the task). Thanks!

From looking on excel help sites, it can show the format in days, hours, minutes. I essentially want to understand how much time it is taking between the two dates/times. I'm not sure what options I have. Thanks!

the cell is formated as hh:mm:ss

It's just giving "#" in the output cell. I entered =A1-B1 in C1 and chose that custom format.

you did not used my formula.

The assigned data needs to be greater (bigger) than the request data.

So the formula needs to be b1-a1 instead of a1-b1 (your formula)

Excel will display any negative time as ############, so you have to do a calculation that results in a positive time.
