Counting active projects at any given time

I am trying to plot the number of projects that were active on a monthly basis across a two year period.
Each row represents an individual project which includes the start and finish dates for that project.
My final worksheet has about 500 project entries.

I've attached a file which shows my worksheet layout along with a graph which represents the output I would like to see.
