Conditional Formatting with Multiple Conditions (AND & OR)

    Hi Guys,

I need some help with this.

I have a list of items that need to delivered to a store and checked for Quality control before sending it customers.

Each item can go through 3 rounds of QC. I want to format text in such a way that entire ROW should turn PURPLE if the item has arrived at the store (Delivery 1, 2 & 3) and NOT checked for Quality control (QC Date 1, 2 & 3). If first QC fails, item will be sent back and fixed and check for QC again and so on for 3 times.

I have attached an example. please have a look.

    Thanks in advance.

Re: Conditional Formatting with Multiple Conditions (AND & OR)

First of all, select the cells from B3 to I28 and set the foreground colour to Automatic, then with the cells still selected, click on Conditional Formatting | New Rule | Use a formula... , and put this formula in the dialogue box:

    =OR(AND($C3<>"",$D3=""),AND($E3<>"",$F3=""),AND($G3<>"",$H3=""))

Click on the Format button | Font tab and use the Color drop-down to choose your colour. If you want to change the background colour as well, click on the Fill tab. Then click OK twice to exit the dialogue box, and Excel will adjust the cell references to suit the cells that were selected.

    Hope this helps.

    Pete
