Re: Can someone help me to figure out the formula

I'm no good at this but my idea would be to calculate the two areas separately A and B and add the results?Rooftop.png

If you have 10 or more posts, expect your post to be locked, so you can start a new thread with an appropriate title.

Re: Elevation View area to pitch - formula

I assume, but i need someone to confirm:

=AREA / SIN((ROOF PITCH DEGREES)*PI()/180) - To get pitched area - Not sure if this is correct formula, but it seemed it is

=AREA / COS((ROOF PITCH DEGREES)*PI()/180) - To get Floor plan area into pitched area ( i know that works )

    If memory serves correctly

Projected area (includes overhangs) * (rise^2+run^2)^0.5
    ie the area * hypotenuse

If calculating roofing material add for waste and ridge.

Re: Elevation View area to pitch - formula

I'm talking about converting Flat area into pitch.

Same way as taking Floor plan area at pitch 0 degrees,

lets say 100 sqm floor plan - now i give it a 35 degree pitch, answer will be: 122.077 square meters

Now same way im trying to make it work out for elevation views, if on elevation i get area 75 square meter on 0 pitch, by giving a 35 degrees it should be 91.55 square meters.

I kind of think it's correct formula, but just need to clarify.
