    Based on Dave's table, in C1: =IF(IFERROR(SEARCH(A1,B1)>0,0),SUBSTITUTE(B1,A1&", ",""),B1)
    change last B1 to "" if you want leave C1 blank while this condition IFERROR(SEARCH(A1,B1)>0,0) is FALSE

    edit:
    btw. formula cannot delete anything
