Hello,
First of all I'm going to apologise for asking a question I should be able to solve myself with the use of google, previous forum posts, example sheets and Excel help, but 3 hours later here I am....
I'm trying to find a text match from one sheet to another, take a respective cell value, divide by another cell in the same array then multiply by a value on the original sheet, and I can't get it right.
Basically I'm trying to do a meal planner, I have one sheet with calories of the frequent things we use, a cell with the grams per calories counted and another with the number of calories. Then I have a recipe with the ingredient, and amount I need to use. Should be simple, but I'm obviously not understanding sumif, (or excel) as I want to do more than add up a+b or pull a result.
What I have seemed to work fine for flour, but butter goes mental and eggs .... well, I have no idea what's going on. Anyone fancy humouring me? Tried modifying so many examples, but without understanding some of the basics (usage of !D:F vs $D$1$F$500 for example) I keep making a hash of it.
