    Pulling info from other sheets

    Good Afternoon,

I have attached a spread sheet that want I want to have done is this or at least something close.

One sheet one (Company name) I have a company listed. What I want to have happen is for columns "L" and "M" to fill in for me based in information on sheet two (Zip Codes)

So it would look at information in column "E" Find that zip code on page two above that zip code is a county listed (Colored) and then above that there is District listed.

    So example row one.

Zip code 55602 falls under St. Louis County and is in District 10. So I would like "L" to say St. Louis County and "M" to say "District 10"

I can do this in any way that is needed this was just the only want I have the information.

    Feel free to ask questions!

    Thanks

    Kat

Do you absolutely need the formatting of the Zip Codes worksheet to remain as is?

not really but I need the those counties and zip codes to be under the district. I can format it anyway that works best.

Re: Pulling info from other sheets

I would recommend arranging Zip Codes in a different table format. As fields: District > County > Zip across the top.

Every Zip would need a District and a County field populated. To reiterate, three columns of data only. This will make for a simple formula to pull into your Company Name worksheet (such as an array INDEX/MATCH with two criteria). The heavy lifting will be in terms of putting the Zip Codes tab into the format I described; if you do that, your request becomes significantly easier to fill.

This is not to say a formula would be impossible to populate the Company Name worksheet as it is currently formatted, just that it will be much more cumbersome and not nearly as scalable if more fields/criteria are added in the future.

    See attached:

    Add 2 columns for district/county

    in L2 of "Company names"

    =INDEX('Zip Codes'!$B$1:$B$200,SUMPRODUCT(($E2='Zip Codes'!$C$1:$O$200)*(ROW($A$1:$M$200))))

    in M2

    =INDEX('Zip Codes'!$A$1:$A$200,SUMPRODUCT(($E2='Zip Codes'!$C$1:$O$200)*(ROW($A$1:$M$200))))
