average of column based on criteria

hi guys

im looking to find the average of column L

If

column C contains the word arsenal and column X contains the word Cech
the thing with column x is that column x will have a cell that looks like " Cech Bellerin Monreal Sanchez " etc so it would need to be filtered by contain i guess??

any help gratefully appreciated

Try this:

=AVERAGEIFS(L:L,C:C,"Arsenal",X:X,"*Cech*")
