Exclamation Possible Reversal of Data Validation

I use the subsequent formula in my data validation =COUNTA(A2:H2,K2:N2)=12 in column I. It adjusts accordingly to its respective row. Here is a hypothetical: For example, cells A through H and K through N all have values in row two. This allows me to put a value in I2. A day or two later someone else goes and is putting data in the table and accidentally deletes the contents of cell K2. How would I have the user be prompted with the data validation? Currently, there is no prompt of the validation, and the cell remains blank.

That's one of the problems with data validation you can delete it or destroy it by copy / paste into it. If you want to preserve data validation, you need to resort to VBA.
One spreadsheet to rule them all. One spreadsheet to find them. One spreadsheet to bring them all and at corporate, bind them.

A picture is worth a thousand words, but a sample spreadsheet is more likely to be worked on.

Maybe use regular formatting to highlight the cells (red?) to give some indication not to use them?
    1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)

As I have no experience with VBA, how would I go about it? I would need the broadest overview and the easiest VBA code with which to start for this.

It would be better if I had something concrete to work with.

Please attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

    Remember to desensitize the data.

Click on GO ADVANCED and then scroll down to Manage Attachments to open the upload window.
