How to find out the total for each customer from different pick up

Hello,

This is my first post.

I have a table which contains details of stone slabs pick up for various customers from various suppliers through out the month. I want to find out the total slabs for each customer from different suppliers in the month. My table is set up as follow:
Date/ From/ To/ No. of slabs

If anyone can point me to the right direction that would be great

Thanks heaps in advance

From
Betty

Hi, welcome to the forum

You probably need to look at using the COUNTIFS() function for this.

See how far you get, and if you still need help, upload a small (clean) sample workbook (not a pic) of what you are working with, and what your expected outcome would look like.
To attach a file to your post,
click advanced (next to quick post),
scroll down until you see "manage file",
click that and select "add files" (top right corner).
click "select files" find your file, click "open" click "upload" click 'done" bottom right. click "submit reply"

Once the upload is completed the file name will appear below the input boxes in this window.
You can then close the window to return to the new post screen.
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
3. Click on the star if you think someone helped you

Regards
Ford

Hi,

Thank you for your reply.

I have attached the file that I am working on at the moment, I have set up a basic table on the second tab I want to be able to tell at end of month that this customer has received this many of slabs from this supplier.
We are using MYOB for invoice, but they cant tell me how many slabs customer received and from who.
I hope that I make sense.
If you can help me that would be great I wish I have listened when i was in uni.. ha ha ha

Not sure where you get 56 for the Caesar/Marbut combo?
Try this, copied down and across

=SUMIFS(Slabs!$F:$F,Slabs!$D:$D,Sheet1!$A3,Slabs!$E:$E,Sheet1!B$2)

In sheet1 : you have mentioned, Marbut & Caesar required result 56, whereas total slab sum is 78 (Total Nos of slab is : 3)
also confirm you want addition criteria with date? This help to calculate within period also.

Awesome, happy to help.

As an added benefit, you could also check by date (or date range) by adding an extra criteria

To help us help you, your samples need to be as accurate as possible. I spent some time (as did avk, from the looks of it) testing to see why my answer did not match with yours.

Did you try my formula?

Sorry for off-topic interjection:

Although there is no official rule regarding this behavior, we request that wherever possible both the question AND the answer be provided in substantive detail here within the thread. An attached workbook is an excellent aid for posing a question and offering a solution, but solely doing that with no in thread explanation makes it difficult for researchers to understand or consider the Q & A of this thread without downloading what may be a pointless doc to them, if they can do that at all. Doing that also hides the content from search engines so others may never benefit from this.

I'm sure you understand, and we look forward to seeing you post your formulas/macros in your posts for the searching benefit of all.

Thanks again for all your hard work here!

I think you have the 1st criteria range wrong?
=SUMIFS(Slabs!$F:$F,Slabs!$B:$B,Drivers!A3,Slabs!$B:$B,Drivers!B2)

Shouldnt that be D?

Re: How to find out the total for each customer from different pick up

OK, here are the problems...

1. You have a trailing space for John in sheet4, but not in Slabs - remove the trailing space
The trailing space is also on Dale, but your data also has that trailing space - try and be consistent with your data

2. You need to absolute certain parts of that formula so they they dont change when copied...
=SUMIFS(Slabs!$G:$G,Slabs!$A:$A,$A3,Slabs!$B:$B,B$2)
