formula for creating a shift pattern

Hi Guys, I'm a total newbie and I have followed an on-line tutorial on how to build a employee roster, I have a list of example employees in the
roster and on each month in the employee section I have a drop down box where I can choose the appropriate employee and it will fill in their
clock number etc, etc., but what I want to do is on another pager create a drop down box with the names and then enter a shift pattern for each
person and a start date and then it will fill the roster you with that persons shift.

I know this is a lot to ask but is this possible?

Also can you give my roster the once over to let me know if I need to modify anything?

    thanks

    Hi,

    Welcome to the forum.
Can you please give us more details on the details of shift such as the dates / timings, changeover frequency, etc. ?

Note : While uploading workbooks for your requirement, kindly ensure to remove all sheet protection(s) and insensitive data. In this case, you may just upload a copy of the roster sheet alone (where you want the formulas to be coded) with the above details.
If my assistance has helped, there is a reputation icon * on the left hand corner below the post - you can show your appreciation to the user who has helped in resolving your requirement.

If your requirement has been solved please mark your thread as Solved.
In the menu bar above the very first post, select Thread Tools, then select "Mark this thread as Solved".

Kindly use [FORMULA] or [CODE] tags when posting your code.

    Regards,
    Sarang

I want to be able to input the 4 days on and 4 days off rota using 12 hr shifts. but also be able to create other shift patterns at the same time for other employees. I have seen something online whet you can input something like +4 for 4 days working and the 0000 for 4 days off.

    Is this ok?

    @Shalaby

If you read the Forum Rules at the top of the screen you will see that Rule 02 says that you should not try to hijack someone else's thread - rather, you should start your own thread instead, with a link back to this one if you feel it is relevant. You can attach your file to the new thread, as it always helps to be able to see how your data is laid out and what you want to do with it.

    Hope this helps.

    Pete
