Question Data not dragging down properly

I am trying to drag column D down so it keeps following the pattern.

    Here is the order
    worked
    not worked
weekday or weekend (depending on column C) formula based on column C
    Bradley
    Day
    Evenings
    Nights
    total

When I try to drag from D26, it pulls down but then gets weird and doesn't follow my order. Anyone know why? I want to fix this because I will do more than october and many more months. I'd hate to have to copy my list paste it one at a time for each day.

    data sheet attached. thank you

*you can ignore the vba icon.. i deleted that sheet. I had it to update all my pivot tables in 1 shot.

Re: Data not dragging down properly

Don't you have formula, rather than data, in D4, D12, D20 etc?

Isn't that formula based on the value in the 'Day' column and returns 'Weekend' if that value begins with an 'S' and 'Weekday' if it doesn't?

In C20 the value is 'Monday' ,which does not begin with an 'S' so the formula in D20 returns 'Weekday'.

yes I have those as well, but thats in a different column. If you drag down D26 (oops I put D6 above, will change that)... it does not follow the order.

Re: Data not dragging down properly

If only D25 is selected, as is the case when the file attached to post #1 is first opened, then only D25 will be copied down to D26 etc. On the other hand if D18:D25 are selected and the fill handle is pulled down cells D26:D33 will fill in the order described in post #1.

Re: Data not dragging down properly

If I highlight D18:D25 (which is the correct order, like post #1) and pull down from D26:D33, the order is not the same. Here are the results I get when I pull down..

    Weekday
    Weekend
    Weekday
    Total
    Day
    Evenings
    Nights
    Worked

As you can see, if you compare this with post #1, it does not line up. Not sure why this is happening.

It works just fine for me.

    I don't get this part

If you highlighted D18:D25, how then are you pulling 'Down from' D26:D33 ?

    If I highlight D18:D25
Then click and hold the tiny black square at the bottom right of D25 and 'Drag' that down to D33, it fills in just fine.
