Which formula do I use to allow the total of one cell to reduce on increasing another!?

How can I get the total in two cell's to reduce when I add an amount in another cell?

For example cell H7 is at 100 and cells M7 and N7 are at 20. When I make cell H7 105 how can I automatically get cells M7 and N7 to reduce to 15? The cells are in hours and minutes.

I recently started a new job so am a bit busy and may not reply quickly. Sorry - it's not personal - I will reply eventually.
If your problem is solved, please go to 'Thread Tools' above your first post and 'Mark this Thread as Solved'.
If you use commas as your decimal separator (1,23 instead of 1.23) then please replace commas with semi-colons in your formulae.
You don't need to give me rep if I helped, but a thank-you is nice.

No - I quoted the rules as well - but was obviously slower typing it than you were!

That would require an event macro.

In the attachment, what I aim to achieve is; when I increase the number within column E6 - E8, the number in columns (H6-H8 & I6-I8) reduces by the amount entered in E6-E8.

Try those event codes on sheet :

Those event codes on This Workbook :

Now create a new module and declare a global variable like this :

That's it. You are done. See the attachment.

    Sanram,

Sounds good however how do I put that into my excel spreadsheet? For example do I highlight the cells and type in that formula.

Not very good at formatting what so ever! Idiots guide would be good!

    Many thanks

    Steve

You will not be able to do this with any formula. To put the above macro in your sheet do the following :
    1. Right click on the sheet name at bottom and select View Code. Now paste this code there.
Please Login or Register to view this content.
    2. Next double click on ThisWorkbook at the left side on VBAProject panel. Now paste this code there :
Please Login or Register to view this content.
    3. Next right click on ThisWorkbook and select Insert --> Module. Then paste this here :
Please Login or Register to view this content.
    4. Lastly close that visual basic screen and save the file.

    That's it. You are done.
