Count Multiple entries as one

I have names in a column that may repeat and dates associated to those name that also may repeat. I'm trying to summarize them by date

7/20/2016 McKoy, Rick
7/20/2016 McKoy, Rick
7/20/2016 McKoy, Rick
7/20/2016 McKoy, Rick
7/20/2016 McKoy, Rick
7/20/2016 Smith, Sam
7/20/2016 Smith, Sam

With the above date I need something like the following

I don't need a count, but just that on that day the name appears at least 1 time

I tried doing IF AND statements but get #Values.
