    Data Validation from multiple source

    Hello
    I have a name defined (Branches) and use data validation as
    Allow
    List
    Source =Branches
    It is working perfect.

    I wanted to add another text called "South" which is not defied in the list "Branches".

    So I need to allow data entry from the dropdown list (=Branches ) and "South" which is not in the list.
    I do not want to see "South" in the dropdown list but it should accept "South" if I enter it manually
    Could you please help me.
    Thanks

    Re: Data Validation from multiple source

    to my opion that can NOT be done in Excel.

    I wonder why you don't want that text in the dropdown list.

    Probably it can be done with VBA, but I can't help you enough with VBA
    Notice my main language is not English.

    I appreciate it, if you reply on my solution.

    In the data validation userform...

    On the Error Alert tab, uncheck: Show error alert after invalid data is entered

    Note that this will allow you to manually enter ANYTHING in the cell.

    Re: Data Validation from multiple source

    Thanks for your reply. My idea was to hide one name from the list and that name to keep as confidential which is allowed only for certain people. Others can select the name from the list.
    @Oeldere - Thanks.
    @Tony - But I need to restrict the name. If I remove the alert, then all value will be accepted.
    Thanks guys.. I will manage with some If functions...
