    It should be Hart. In the file you attached it was Ben (copied from the Ben sheet).

    So it is working, but wont pull the first result for either person. It starts with whatever the second data set is for that person.

    Did you include the $ symbol in the first formula I gave you, i.e.:

    =IF(B2="","-",B2&"_"&COUNTIF(B$2:B2,B2))

    This should result in entries like Ben_1, Hart_1, Hart_2, Ben_2 etc. when the formula is copied down.

    If you are getting this, then please attach the file as you now have it, so I can try to diagnose the problem.

    I don't have access to excel right now, but I will post later. I think i can put in some dummy info though to trick the system, and it should work out fine. Gonna do more testing but THANK YOU!@!!!!!!!

    I've attached the file that I worked on, with some extra data that I added (along with a new sheet). Hopefully you can see how it works.
