Lookup, Match and Return Text formula?

Hello!

I'm new so this question might already have been answered (sorry) but I have the following problem:

I have the following list of locations on sheet 1 that is used for a (multiple choise) list in another sheet 2 with also, for each location the capital:

Sheet 1

A B
Location Capital

1 The Netherlands Amsterdam
2 Spain Madrid
3 France Paris
4 Italy Rome



In the actual Data list (sheet 2) I would like that in the first colum it gives the multiple choice option for the location and that, by doing that, the connected capital is filled in automatically in the second collum. Does anyone know what the right formula is for the second collum in sheet 2??

NOTE: This example is not the actual situation but will resolve the issue that I have now... thank you so much

Thanks, I was looking for that! I've attached the documents (NOTE: the after document has a collum with "capital" filled in, I would like it if excels fills them in automatically)

Try this in B2:

=VLOOKUP(A2,'Sheet 1'!$A$2:$B$1000,2,0)

I have two sheet of payment details, i am trying to incorporate "Bill No" from Sheet "B" to Sheet "A" where if highlighted fileds are matched
