    Conditional Formatting

    Hi,

Just wanting to see if there is a quicker way to use the conditional formatting option for the attached image.

I am using the green - red Colour Scale to identify the price range between different contractors.

Currently, I am alt clicking 4 cells, so that the conditional format can work on the cells I have highlighted (as per image) Once I do it with the top row, I repeat the process until I get to the bottom (i.e. go to conditional format and create new format).

Sometimes, this is for rows that are up to 100 lines and I waste a lot of time doing this.

I have tried using format painter, but doesn't seem to work (or I am not doing it correctly).

Is there a quick and easy way to copy this conditional format down to colour visualise the variance in Row 18 to 34 (with respect to Columns H, J, L and N)

    Re: Conditional Formatting

Do it once for the top row and then edit the range to which the condition applies. That is, if it says $H$17:$H$17, change it to $H$17:$H$200, or whatever.

    It doesn't seem to work.

I want the 4 cells from each row to compare values, and then the 4 cells from the row below to compare values, and so on.

That doesn't work at the moment. You can use Manage Attachments though.

Many people will only download attachments that have been uploaded to the forum.

    OK, have uploaded attachment.

Not too sure how you would view it though.

Might have to read the forum later on tonight.
