Wanting to add conditional formatting gradients to columns in a table

Hi,

Hopefully this makes sense....

I would like to have a column either change color or partially fill, based on certain criteria.

Example

Column A=Budget
Column B=Actual

If Column B=0, then I would like the cell to be either red-ish, or a non filled bar
If Column B=>0<.25(Column A) Orange-ish or 25% filled bar
If Column B=>.25(Column A) but <.5(Column A), then I would like the cell to either be yellow-ish, or a 50% filled bar
If Column B=>.5(Column A) but <.75 (Column A), then I would like the cell to to either be light green or 75% filled bar
If Column B=>.75(Column A), then I would like the cell to be dark green or 100% filled bar.

I am trying the route of conditional formatting, but I am only being able to basically apply the formatting to 1 cell at a time, instead of a column...can you help please?

Thanks in advance

So messing around with it, I know the issue is my formula...and then in the "applies to" I must be inputting something wrong....so basically everything. I don't know if anyone has tried this before or sees another thread I can reference?

Thanks in advance

You can only use gradient fill if you ally it to the same cell, and you can only apply CF based on other cells, using Use Formula - but you cannot use gradient fill with Use Formula
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)

Re: Wanting to add conditional formatting gradients to columns in a table

Ok, well maybe let's go with color fill and relate it to a formula....which formulas will get good results?

I am having an issue with what to put after the =

Column A=Budget
Column B=Actual

If Column B=0, then I would like the cell to be a non filled bar
If Column B=>0<.25(Column A) Orange-ish
If Column B=>.25(Column A) but <.5(Column A), then I would like the cell to be yellow-ish
If Column B=>.5(Column A) but <.75 (Column A), then I would like the cell to be light green
If Column B=>.75(Column A), then I would like the cell to be dark green

Is something like this possible? Or am I misunderstanding

What about equal conditions >=Y , <= Z?
