Hi All,
I need some help figuring out the best formula/method to sum YTD totals. There are issues that I am having due to the structure/layout of the data, which I cannot change. I've attached a sample workbook, to demonstrate and hopefully will be easier to understand. Further background info:
Designed in Excel 2010, though most end users onm 2007. A single workbook contains 1 spreadsheet with 50 'forms'/sections. Each form has 37 rows to capture monetary values, with Jan-Dec columns plus totals etc. The data from all the forms is fulled into a single data sheet for easier analysis which contains alomost 30,000 rows of data across 40 columns.
The issue is attempting to calculate the YTD total for each section, with 2 rows of criteria to be matched (Dept & team in the attached) and 1 column of criteria for the dates. Due to the nature of the forms, there are blank/null cells in addition to text, so I'm getting an error with sumproduct (though am not specifically looking to use Sumproduct, but rather the best function which doesn't take up too much calc time due to the size of the dataset).
I hope this isn't too vague, does anyone have any recommendations?
Thanks
Steve
