It might help to get a response if you produced an output file (sheet) based on "Data" which clearly demonstrates the logic required (and expected outcome).

    Re: Adjusting employees timing file

    The demand in brief :
I want to calculate working hours for every employee but the problems are:
-There are a lot of duplicates in records
-Dates are not adjusted because the work system is complicated.(3 shifts)

    >>>>>the solution can be done if I found a way to adjust dates in column c to take the earliest "in" and the latest "out" (which is taken from D Column)

See the attached where I tried to identify IN & OUT

    =IF(COUNTIFS($C$2:C2,C2,$B$2:B2,B2)=1,"IN",IF(COUNTIFS($C$2:C2,C2,$B$2:B2,B2)=COUNTIFS($C$2:$C$206,C2,$B$2:$B$206,B2),"OUT",""))

    Problem attaching at the moment

    Re: Adjusting employees timing file

There is a problem in this formula.Look at Work System again:
-First shift from 8:00 A.M to 4:00 p.M or more
    -Second shift from 4:00 P.M to 12:00 A.M
    -Third shift from 12:00 A.M to 8:00 A.M
-Some times emplyees can do "in" at 8:00 P.M and do "out" at 8:00 A.M
But the whole problem is in Dates column"c".Can you modify the equation in Column "c".
    Waiting for your answer
