Hi!
First of all, English ain't my mother tongue, so hopefully I can explain my problem.
I need to convert certain historical values from one currency to Euro, e.g. from GBP to EUR. Since the Euro has been introduced (as book money) in 1999, everything before 1998 needs to be converted twice. I chose ATS for this, [cause 1) I believe its simple to convert it with a fixed exchange rate to EUR and 2) cause I'm from Austria and that once used to be my official currency]. So this is the initial problem, which gets a little more complicated, or actually I believe just more work, because not only do I have to do these conversions for GBP to EUR but also for like 20 other currencies to EUR.
The last time I used Excel functions was like 8 years ago in school, so I'm a little rusty and not even sure if I have ever done something like this. Right now I'm stuck and thought I might look for help while I try to figure it out myself.
I attached an extract of the original file. It contains 100 values, most of the in GBP but some are in USD. I put in the exchange rates for GBP/ATS, GBP/EUR, USD/ATS and USD/EUR for the respective years.
By the way, since I am from Austria this 1,234 means a value between 1 and 2 and not 1thousand234.
I hope everything is clear and someone can show me how to do these conversions with 1 function/multiple functions in 1 cell.
