i have a formula in column E that I need to 'start over' every 25 cells. For example, E2:E26 should only have data from cells d2;d26 and c2:c26, so when the formula gets to e27, the formula would need to start from d27 and c27 instead. I can manually do this, but would rather just drag down and not have to. Essentially every 25 cells is a new work day and need the formula to just calculate every 25 cells.
Try this in E2 and filled down
=SUMIF($A$2:$A2,A2,$D$2:$D2)/SUMIF($A$2:$A2,A2,$C$2:$C2)

That's not working.
When I get to the January 23, it is still calculating cells from January 22. I did some research, would using an offset formula help?
why it not working - although it still has the cell reference it is doing a check on the date - and grouping by the date
results appear correct

...and did Jonmo's solution not do what you want? As I understand your request it works for me. If you feel it's wrong then tell us what values you expect in E27 going down for a couple more days.
