Hi All,
In EXCEL 2007 i have words in a column and many of them are repeating. How do i count the number of times a word is repeating in that column?

SIMPLY USE COUNT IF FORMULA LIKE
B1=COUNTIF(A1:A1000,A1)
Try this and copy towards down change the ragne A1:A1000 as per your requirement
If this is not solve your problem attach a sample file with desired result

pls. see the attachment ppppp.xlsx. i want to generate a list of country names and how many times its repeating.
for example:
france 10
india 100
germany 50
something like this.
There are "hidden" characters at the end of country names so COUNTIF does work (for me anyway).
Use countif function or Pivot Table

No formulas are needed for this problem. Simply put a column header in Row 1 and do a simple Pivot Table. See the attached for your answer. Time to learn Pivot Tables?
