    Using Countif/Counta to find percentage.

    Hi all.

    I'm using

I used Col C as the COUNTA ref as it has no gaps.

To try and find the percentage of complete jobs marked as yes or no, but with the odd blank in a large database, but the percentage comes out wrong, any ideas?

In what way is the result wrong?
What result does it actually give, and what result did you expect, and why?

If you're using C for the counta because there are no gaps, then essentially you're doing
    =COUNTIF(Database!M2:M2000,"yes")/1999

My assumption would be you should use the same column for the counta as you used to count for Yes.

Forgive my ignorance, I think I understood the formula incorrectly.

I was hoping to show the percentage of yes's over the total entries (blanks are also technically a no).

There are 238 entries of which 235 are yes and 3 blanks, so I was hoping it would show an answer of 98.73% but it comes out as 11.71%

Attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

    Remember to desensitize the data.

Re: Using Countif/Counta to find percentage.

    Hello All,

I'm new to the forum and any help is greatly appreciated! My issue is trying to count the values in a row of a pivot table greater than the average of all the values in the same row of the pivot table. I'm using the countif and counta in my formula, but must be missing something.

    Thank You
