Data Validation => Custom => Error Alert - Warning

Hi There


In the same way that you can create a data validation list and then can create an error alert warning if someone tries to write something that is not on the list. Can this same error alert warning be used if someone tries to overwrite a formula???

For example, at the moment I have an index/ match formula in column F, however I need to leave the column unprotected as a person may need to overwrite this formula (albeit only on a few occasions). If someone overwrites the formula I want to create an error alert warning using data validation.

I thought I could select Data validation, select the 'custom' format in the allow box and then enter the index/match formula in the formula box which would then allow me to create an error prompt????

Can anybody help?
