    to take info from sheet1 to sheet2 from horizontal to vertical.

    greetings everyone. i have this worksheet i need to write a S/N number on sheet2 and the information will be taken from sheet1 and pop up in sheet 2. it would be understood through the attachment.

    Try with VLOOKUP and MATCH.

    formula ..

    =VLOOKUP($B$2,sheet1!$A$3:$AA$8,ROWS($A$1:A2)

    can u use it in index match cuz later on we will add more people in sheet 1 the one i sent u was till A6 later on itll be more things and i feel index match is more suitable than vlookup cuz later on we dont hve to change the formula in index match.

    Why do you have to change the formula: you only enter a new S/N

    =VLOOKUP($B$2,sheet1!$A$3:$AA$1000,ROWS($A$1:A2)

    will handle 1000 rows in Sheet1. Change 1000 to whatever you need.

    i did that but when i change the S/N numbers in the sheet 1, sheet 2 is taking wrong info from sheet 1
