Trying to use autofill to make input easier.

    Hi there.

I have two numbers I am trying to enter in one cell in excel 2007 that I then want to use autofill to drag down to enter 1 more on each number in each row below i.e. :-

First number 301 which will be strikethrough and in black text.
Second number 751 which will NOT be strikethrough and also red text, underneath the first number in the same cell.

The second cell has to be 302 and 752, third cell 303 and 753 etc etc.

I've managed to type the figures in and formatting as text got the word wrap to work and the colour changes but I can't figure out how to use autofill to enter the next range of numbers in the cell below. I've used the select two cells method but that returns a weird range list, not what I require as described above.

I've also tried to add 1001 to each cell but this only works if they are formatted as numbers and then the wrap text won't work.

Is there a way to accomplish this or am I asking more of excel 2007 than it is capable of ?

    TIA

Autofill will not do that for you

replace your data with a formula like:

    Formula: copy to clipboard

    Corrected.xlsx

Thanks for the reply mehmetcik but I'm afraid what you have typed is basically gobbledygook as I really am an amateur when it comes to excels more advanced functions

I would hazard a guess that where you have written ROW, I should replace that with the row above where I am entering text ?

Actually, scrap that as I've just tried it and got a slapped wrist off Excel for being dumb !!

If it makes it any easier to understand what I am trying to accomplish (more for me than anybody helping me - lol) I have attached a sample excel file that shows what I am trying to achieve. Cells A1 + A2 are manually entered by me and I want to be able to automatically enter the remaining cells with the values shown.

    Hi again.

It finally clicked in my head what you were trying to get across to me buddy, thanks.

Once I enter the formula you gave me, I can use autofill to enter further data below.

I just need to find out if I can apply the no strikethrough and change font colour to red on the last three digits now.

    Anybody got any ideas ?
