Matching and updating data from one worksheet to another

Fellow forum members –

I am attempting to refine some processes and need assistance. I originally posted this in late September, to which "LeoTaxi" provided a macro that worked perfectly when the pages were in the same document. But, when I try to write the macro for it to work with two different workbooks, the curser spins but, when it stops the cells are still blank. Admittedly, I am more versed with formulas than macros.

Repeat from Sep 29: "The attached document contains two worksheets. The first contains an excerpt of a company’s data relating to product deficiencies. The second contains the update of investigative activity on those deficiencies. Working with the historical data I am trying to develop a formula that will match columns A, C, L, and M with the same columns in the AUG Update. Once exact match is made I then want to populate the Historical data, columns N through T, with information found on the AUG Update."

I have attached the two separate workbooks. I would prefer a formula but will work with a macro - as my deadline is quickly approaching.

Any ideas? Thank You!!

Thanks for your assistance - this works well with my two sample documents, but I still need assistance.

First, when I rewrite the macro to work with the two actual documents none of the fields update. I am confident at least part of it works because when it finishes it saves and closes the one document. Unfortunately, due to the sensitive nature of the actual data in the two documents I am unable to share them with you.

Second, I only want the macro to run if column "N" is blank in the historical data file.

Are these easy fixes?

Thank you tremendously for your time - but it still is not populating the blank columns. I have attached the code as modified for the actual sheet and file names; as well as the actual columns to be populated. Would you please review and let me know what I may have done wrong? Thank you

someting wrong with the resize and i dont find it
but in this replaced it by copy
