Moving selected descriptions arond the worksheet

I trying to help my daughter set up an customer invoice. As you will see in the sample once you make a selection by filling in "Quantity" (1) on the Model, Options & Motor the pricing will go to the invoice. I need the description "text" to follow the selection onto the invoice. to the left of the price on the invoice. Any help will be appreciated.

    Hi, welcome to the forum

I am unable to find the location you mention, can you give a cell ref?
    1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)

Re: Moving selected descriptions arond the worksheet

Hi and thanks for your help on this. For the most part all descriptions are in column "A" in the "Boats", "Options" & "Motors" section. In D93 is where I need the Boat description to go, B94 is where I need the Options description to go and B98 is where I need the "Motor" description to go. All of this is predicated on where the "1" is put in "QTY" C4 thru C39 for the "Boat" section. "QTY" F55 thru F67 for the "Options" section and "QTY" F69 thru F75 for the "Motors" section. Once a "1" is placed in any of the "QTY" for all three areas a price appears next to it and also down the invoice area. I hope I did not confuse you too much on this.

BTW, The options area may be multiple "QTY" selections which will result in a total price for all in the invoice but would require multiple descriptions imported.

I am having difficulty working with the .zip file. Is it possible to upload the workbook again but as a .xlsx file this time?

I tried that and it would not take. Perhaps in RAR format or something else. Let me know, meanwhile I will try again.

Re: Moving selected descriptions arond the worksheet

I note one can apparently select more than one model but the invoice (appears) to allow for only one description.

The formula in J93 could be simplified to SUM(D4:D39): similarly for J94.

This will get you the MODEL description

in D93 but change format to GENERAL

    =INDEX($A$4:$A$39,MATCH($J$93,$B$4:$B$39,0))

For OPTIONS to work in a similar way i.e match against price the OPTIONS need to be individual line items: you currently SUM prices in J94.

You should be able to use a similar formula to the above for MOTOR and TRAILER.

    Hope this helps.
