    Vlookup - paste values

    hi folks,

i have a question regarding to the paste function in vlookup.

can someone please explain how do i need to format the cells in wich
i type or paste my values to search data for, so that the vlookup immediately shows the datas.
in some tables it works, in others i need to go in every cell (in wich i pasted data)
    and hit enter?

does anybody know whats the reason for that and how can i fix it?

    thanks in advance!

are you familiar with the text-to-column function? sometimes when your source data is from other systems, you may need to clean it up by selecting those relevant columns and click on text-to-column -> straight to finish to do some cleaning.
