inserted column copies over formatting too - can't change it

attached is the original column and the one i inserted to the right. the original column is formatted for a drop down menu. i can't (don't know how to) delete that from the new column. any help is greatly appreciated. ~judi

Highlight the column
Then enter data validation as if you were making a new rul, but instead, set it to Any Value
