    Filling a cell with colour

    Hi,

I'm struggling here, I have a worksheet whereby I want to fill several cells across a row with a colour based on the value of a number that is contained within the last column of the row, the conditional formatting works great, what doesn't is copying it to subsequent rows below I don't want to keep creating the conditional formatting rule for each of the hundred rows below as every time I copy it it bases it in the cell in the row I created I created the rule. The number contained in the end cell is a number that changes on each row.

Is there a way I can do it like a traditional formula with a IF function?

Make sure the formula in your conditional format isn't using a static reference. Remove the dollar ($) signs

Re: Filling a cell with colour

Let's say you want the conditional formatting in ranges B2:B100 and F2:F100 where they will be blue if the value in K of the same row is = 5.

First select B2:B100 and (using the CNTRL) F2:F100
    Conditional Formatting>New Rule> Use Formula

Enter the formula as if for the first row (with the row unanchored), the rest will automatically set themselves.
    =$K2= 5
    Does that help?

substitute commas with semi-colons if your region settings requires
