Editable field from Vlookup function to host spreadsheet?

    Hello

I have been trying to find an answer to this over the internet but have seen nothing conclusive. I would like to have a vlookup bringing 3 columns from one spread sheet to another and be able to edit the field in the host spreadsheet through the spreadsheet with my vlookups on. I feel like this should be possible... But although I have seen someone answer this question on another forum I couldn't quite get the method to work.

I'm not very advanced in Excel but I can usually work out how to follow the pointers given, even if it takes me a while.

If anyone has an idea of how to do this or can tell me it's not possible if it's not that'd be greatly appreciated. I need to ammend around 500 rows of three columns and searching the codes up relating to the rows that need changing is very time consuming

    Thanks

    Oscar

Sorry I've not got back earlier. The specific spread sheet contains info on real people so I wouldn't like to post it, I am trying to create a smaller version with pretend people and info so will get that up once it's done. I've been a little busy with other things to get it done.
