I have two sheets. In Sheet 1 there is a list of items and details about that item. In Sheet 2 there is a list of items that also occur in Sheet 1. I need a formula that will refer to Sheet 1 and produce the detail for the matching item in Sheet 2 in Col2. Most of the items in Sheet 1 occur only once. The items in Sheet 2 occur multiple times.
Here is there idea...

It's hard to give you a direct answer since you didn't provide a sample workbook, but a VLOOKUP or INDEX/MATCH combo could work for this:
Assuming your data table on Sheet 2 (Item 1) starts in E3, and your data table on Sheet 1 starts in B3.

Thank you! This worked for several of the items. But on the rest I get an error (#N/A) but am not sure why. :?
Make sure you update the cell reference ranges. If your data extends below row 8, you'll need to update the formula to capture all the data.
Actually, now it's showing #REF! for all items
Got it! Just added $ to my cell ranges and it fixed the problem. Thank you so much!
